About Us
Roeshelle is a licensed esthetician and the founder of Sanctuary Skin. Her work is deeply rooted in her own experience navigating chronic skin concerns. She developed acne in her early teenage years and spent years trying anything and everything to clear it, from drugstore products to dermatology treatments, prescription medications and topicals, restrictive diets, random supplements, and professional skincare with no lasting success.
Determined to clear her skin, she enrolled in esthetician school. Through learning how to properly care for her skin, she finally began to see significant improvement in her acne for the first time, but some stubborn breakouts still lingered along with cycle related breakout flares. It felt as though she had learned how to manage acne once it appeared, but not how to prevent it from occurring in the first place.
In her 20's she also began experiencing eczema that over the years stopped responding to topicals alone. These experiences led her to expand her approach beyond the surface. Drawing from her educational background in nutrition and functional medicine, she began a wellness journey addressing internal imbalances related to gut health, liver function, and lymphatic flow.
And it worked.
This combination of topical skincare and internal wellness support led to not just clearer skin, but more resilient skin that allowed her to no longer live in constant fear of skin flare ups. She realized that many chronic inflammatory skin conditions are difficult to clear because they are influenced by both internal and external factors and require specialized support on both sides.
In her free time she enjoys cooking at home, going to a concert, and spending time with her pets.
Sanctuary Skin was created as more than a treatment room. It’s a space to feel supported in your skin journey, while reconnecting with your skin and yourself.
In an industry that often prioritizes quick fixes, trends, and surface level results, I wanted to create something different. A space where skin is approached with depth, intention, and respect for the body as a whole.
The name “Sanctuary” came intuitively and represents both a physical space and a deeper experience. A place where you can slow down, feel supported, and begin to understand your skin in a new way.
Here, healing is not rushed or forced. It is collaborative, personalized, and rooted in the belief that the body is always working to restore balance when given the right support.
